Spiritual and Educational Event Held: “Alisher Navoi – The Great Genius”
On February 9, 2026, a spiritual and educational event dedicated to the birthday of the great thinker and poet Alisher Navoi was held at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of the Tashkent State Medical Institute.
The event was organized by the Head of the Department, Professor A.V. Yakubov, and the person responsible for spiritual and educational work, Sh.A. Saidova.
The event was attended by the faculty of the department, as well as students from groups 526-a, b, c. Professor P.S. Zufarov opened the event with a welcoming speech.
During the event, students highlighted various aspects of Alisher Navoi’s life and work:
- Alisher Navoi – The Great Scientist and Thinker: His activities as a statesman, and his role as a patron of the construction of madrasas, mosques, and hospitals.
- Sultan of Poets: Navoi’s role in elevating the Turkic language to a high literary level and his place in world literary heritage (“Khamsa”, “Khazoyin ul-ma’oniy”).
- Navoi and Medicine: The great thinker’s contribution to medical science was analyzed, including medical works of his era (“Muqaddima-i dastur ul iloj”) and his immortal ideas on healthy eating rules.
The event was enriched with interesting presentations and masterfully performed ghazals by Navoi recited by the students. At the end, a Q&A session was held, following which active participants were awarded memorable gifts.

The staff of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology continues its work in studying and passing on our spiritual heritage to the youth.
